THE INFLUENCE OF THE MICROSTRUCTURES ON GIANT MR PROPERTIES IN CO/AG MULTILAYERS

摘要
Co/Ag multilayers have been grown by evaporation in ultrahigh vacuum and ion beam sputtering (IBS). The evaporated samples exhibit giant magnetoresistance of 41% at 77 K whereas the IBS-samples only show 9% at 77 K. The compositional sharpness at interfaces is considered to be essential to exhibit giant magnetoresistance for Co/Ag systems.
