The spectrum of γ rays following the β decay of C15, produced in the C13(t,p)C15 reaction, has been studied with a 50-cm3 Ge(Li) detector. Allowed β-ray branches to all available N15 excited states known to have Jπ=12+A orA 32+ were measured including a branch to the 8571-keV state not reported previously. A value of 2.449±0.005 sec was obtained for the C15 half-life by multiscaling β rays detected in a plastic scintillator. The experimental C15 β-ray transition rates are compared with theoretical calculations. RADIOACTIVITY C15; measured Eγ, Iγ, t12; deduced decay scheme and experimental logft values; calculated logft values from theory; compared experiment with theory. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
