TEMPERATURE EFFECTS IN THE EMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF CASEU THIN-FILM ELECTROLUMINESCENT DEVICES

摘要
Red-emitting CaS:Eu thin-film electroluminescent devices were found to exhibit strong thermal emission quenching. From the measurements of temperature dependence of photoluminescent intensity and photoinduced charge density, thermal emission quenching was found to be caused by a thermally assisted ionization of Eu2+ luminescent centers. Thermal emission quenching was considered to be controlled dominantly by the crystallinity of a CaS host rather than by Eu2+ concentration.
