CD1-XMGXTE - A NEW PROMISING BARRIER MATERIAL TO CDTE BASED HETEROSTRUCTURES

摘要
We have compared the optical properties of CdTe/(CdMg)Te- and CdTe/(CdMn)Te- heterostructures by cw and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy in the temperature range from 1.7 K up to room temperature. CdTe/(CdMg)Te-heterostructures show brighter luminescence intensities and longer luminescence decay times at room temperature compared to CdTe/(CdMn)Te-heterostructures. These findings are caused by a more efficient transport of carriers from the barrier into the well and by a reduced importance of non-radiative recombination processes in CdTe/(CdMg)Te quantum wells. Consequently (CdMg)Te is a promising material for opto-electronic devices.
