SIZE EFFECTS, DOUBLE DOPING, AND SUPPRESSION OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN THE MARTENSITIC LOW-TEMPERATURE-TETRAGONAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF (LA,BA,SR)2CUO4

摘要
An orthorhombic-low-temperature-tetragonal phase transition occurs at T = T(d2) in La2-x1-x2Mx1Mx2'Cu1-y2My2''O4 alloys which suppresses superconductivity and products local Cu magnetic moments. The origin of this transition can be inferred from the dependence of T(c) and T(d2) on M = Ba,Sr, M' = Ce,Th, and M'' = Ni, Zn, and Ga as well as x 1. The transition is caused energies due to substitutional size misfit and it produces 4X4 M superlattice microdomains, in agreement with an earlier theoretical model.
