摘要：

A new system is proposed to simplify the notation for the complex masses and the general balancing equations for a particular arrangement of the minimum number of counterweights necessary for the force balancing of linkages. Fewer independent variables appear in each balancing equation and it is a simple matter to determine the existence of the solution, which verifies the suitability of that arrangement for force-balance. The efficiency of the new method is demonstrated with examples.
