BIOSYNTHESIS OF 19-HYDROXY-PROSTAGLANDIN A1

摘要
Prostaglandin A1, prostaglandin E1 and 11α‐hydroxy‐9,15‐diketoprostanoic acid have been incubated with guinea pig liver microsomes plus boiled high speed supernatant supplemented with NADPH. Prostaglandin A1 was converted in 10–18% yield into 19‐hydroxy‐prostaglandin A1 (35%) and 20‐hydroxy‐prostaglandin A1 (65%). Prostaglandin E1 gave a very small yield (less than 3%) of a hydroxylated derivative, and 11α‐hydroxy‐9,15‐diketoprostanoic acid was not hydroxylated at all. In the latter case, however, a reduction of the side chain keto group took place, affording 11α,15‐dihydroxy‐9‐ketoprostanoic acid. Copyright © 1969, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
