Simplified avidin-biotin mediated antibody attachment for a surface plasmon resonance biosensor

摘要
The purpose of this research was to develop a reliable and simple method to prepare antibody coated gold surfaces to perform immunoassays on a wavelength interrogated surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor. The gold sensor surface was treated with a commercial disulfide-biotin molecule and NeutrAvidin-a useful biomolecule for both immobilizing biotinylated antibodies and passivating the surface against non-specific binding. This protocol, utilizing simple self assembled monolayers, was both effective and recyclable. The effectiveness of the protocol was tested by performing immunoassays for IgG, Staphylcoccol entertoxin B, ricin, and Bacillus globigii spores.
