[GRAPHICS] A convergent synthesis of the marine sponge bisindole alkaloids dihydrohamacanthins is described. The synthesis centers on the construction of 3,5- and 3,6-linked pyrazinones and their reduction to the requisite piperazinones with sodium cyanoborohydride.
