Uniform CuInS2 porous microspheres were synthesized on a large scale using CuCl2 . 2H(2)O, InCl3 . 4H(2)O and KSCN as starting reagents in ethylene glycol at 200 degreesC for 12 h. XRD result reveals that the obtained products are well crystallized. FESEM observation reveals that the prepared microspheres are composed of sheet-like nanocrystals. The possible formation mechanism was simply discussed. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
