摘要
Strategically placing secondary dialkyl-ammonium recognition sites at the magic distance of 3.5 Å apart in the dumbbell components of a series of oligorotaxanes (see picture) renders otherwise conformationally floppy [n]rotaxanes rigid and rodlike. These oligorotaxanes form with near-quantitative conversion under thermodynamic control using dynamic covalent chemistry. © 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
