2-Amino-, and 2-alkyl-benzothiazoles have been efficiently prepared by palladium catalyzed cyclization of o-bromophenylthioureas and o-bromophenylthiamides. Results were best with the Pd-2(dba)(3)/monophosphine catalytic system. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
