(Graph Presented) Highly sensitive: The hyper-Rayleigh Scattering (HRS) technique has been used to achieve the ultrasensitive detection of single base-pair mismatches in oligonucleotide strands without any modification of DNA. A very distinct HRS intensity change is observed after hybridization even at the concentration of 10-nanomolar probe single-stranded DNA. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
