A multi-walled carbon nanotube/palladium nanocomposite prepared by a facile method for the detection of methane at room temperature

摘要
A composite of palladium and multi-walled carbon nanotubes was prepared by a simple method of reducing their aqueous mixtures with NaBH4. The morphology of the composite was investigated by transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The electrical responses of the composite to methane were measured at room temperature. It exhibited a response magnitude of similar to 4.5% towards 2% methane at room temperature. In addition, the responses were highly reversible and reproducible, suggesting its potential as a candidate for the room temperature detection of methane. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
