摘要
[RuL3](PF6)(2) complexes containing 4-alkoxycarbonyl-substituted unsymmetrical bipyridine ligands (L) have been obtained exclusively as the fac isomers by simple reaction of L with ruthenium(III) chloride in ethylene glycol under microwave irradiation. The position of the alkoxycarbonyl group on the pyridine ring and its transesterification by ethylene glycol were found critical for stereocontrol during ruthenium coordination.
