Formation of self-assembled organic ultrathin film by chemisorption on silicon crystal surface

摘要
A highly oriented ultrathin organic film was successfully prepared on a silicon single-crystal surface by chemisorption of a silane coupling molecule to a silanol group on the substrate surface. The extended molecular chains of the film were found to align approximately perpendicular to the substrate surface due to the close packing of organic molecular chains. We successfully assembled an organic multimolecular-layer film on a silicon surface with the repeated reaction of a bifunctional silane coupling molecule.
