摘要
RNA and DNA sequences can be distinguished efficiently with a modified oligonucleotide incorporating nonhydrolyzable sulfide linkages. A dodecamer containing three thio-ether-linked riboT-T dimers 1 is easily prepared by standard solid-phase methods and binds cooperatively to complementary RNA but not to DNA. Oligonucleotides of this type should be of use in antisense technology.
