SEPARATION OF GEOMETRICAL RETINOL ISOMERS IN FOOD SAMPLES BY USING NARROW-BORE HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY

摘要
By using an analytical column of 100 mm x 2 mm I.D. (narrow-bore) with a 3-mu m stationary phase and a mobile phase consisting of 1-octanol in n-hexane as modifier, seven geometrical isomers of retinol were separated. In the unsaponifiable matter of food samples, six retinol isomers were identified. Heat and microwave treatment of foods such as milk and liver induced the formation of cis-isomers of retinol.
