Self-excited vibration of a self-supporting thin film caused by laser irradiation

摘要
In this paper, we report on the self-excited vibration of a self-supporting thin film irradiated by a continuous wave of laser light. The optical system is composed of a self-supporting thin film and a mirror. On irradiation by Ar laser light without intensity modulation, self-excited vibration of the self-supporting thin film is generated. The amplitudes of the self-excited vibration are measured as functions of the film-mirror distance and of the laser light power. Some non-linear effects such as a mode jump, hysteresis and an amplitude limit are observed.
