PHOTOEMISSION FROM THE VALENCE-BAND OF C-60 - BANDWIDTH AND PHONON BROADENING

摘要
Angle-integrated valence-band photoemission spectra from C60 yield a total bandwidth of 0.52±0.05 eV for the highest occupied molecular orbital in the surface layer of C60. The bulk bandwidth is estimated to be ∼0.8 eV, in reasonable agreement with a quasiparticle band-structure calculation. The phonon broadening in the surface layer at room temperature is 0.32±0.04 eV. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
