摘要
A highly selective method for ultrasensitive colorimetric Ag+ detection that utilizes a G-quadruplex-based DNAzyme was introduced. This process enables the selective detention of aqueous Ag+ in concentrations as low as 2.5 nm in a facile colorimetric way. The DNAzyme switch, in an open state, can be closed again by addition of Cys because of its ability to remove Ag+ from the C-Ag+-C base pairs. The experiment performed reveals high sensitivity for the analysis of Cys by using the DNAzyme switch. The sensing applications of this DNAzyme switch may be extended by substituting the C-C pairs with other native or artificial bases that specifically bind other metal ions.
