IMPROVED TROTTER-LIKE FORMULA

摘要
A new higher-order approximant of the trace of exponential operators is proposed, namely Tr exp[x(A+B)]=Tr{(e(xA/2n)e(xB/n)e(xA/2n))n exp[(x3/8n2)S3]} + O(1/n4), where S3=1/6[2A+B, [B, A]]. This can be applied to quantum Monte Carlo simulations. This new formula has the great merit that the decomposition parameters of higher order are all positive except the term S3.
